You can use GarageDay without an account. The app creates an anonymous one for you automatically so your work saves as you go. It holds no name, no email and nothing that identifies you — only what you enter. Registering upgrades that same account, which is why nothing you did beforehand is lost.
Only you. Your details, cars, checklists, notes and photos are readable by your account alone. This is enforced by the database itself, not by the app asking politely — a browser that requested someone else's data would be refused.
The exception is questions you choose to send us. Those are visible to you and to GarageDay support, so we can answer them. Nothing else you store is.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.
On Supabase, which hosts the database and file storage, and Resend, which delivers our emails — password resets and replies to your questions. Both are processors acting on our instructions.
Two different things, and the difference matters:

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Deletion is built into the app so you never have to ask. For anything else, email support@garageday.app.
Photos are stored privately and served through short-lived links that only your session can request. They may show your VIN or number plate, which is why they are never public.
Your report is yours forever, free.
Pro is simply where we keep the photos for you.
There isn’t one, but you deserve to know how a free app pays for itself. When we point you at a charger installer, a tinter or a tow bar, we earn a referral fee from them, and businesses pay to be listed. That funds the free version.
What we don’t do: sell your data, pass your details to anyone without you asking us to, or put your own inspection behind a paywall. The photos you took are yours, and the report downloads free whether you pay us or not.
Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to them and are never seen or stored by GarageDay. Cancel any time from the Plans screen.

1. About this app. GarageDay is an independent, unofficial companion app for new and used vehicle owners. It is not made by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. or any other vehicle manufacturer named or referenced in the app. Model names are used only to describe compatibility.
2. Informational purposes only. Checklists, guides, settings explanations, and accessory suggestions are provided for general informational purposes based on publicly available information at the time of writing. They may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate, and are not a substitute for your vehicle's official owner's manual, your dealer, or the manufacturer's own guidance. Always verify anything safety-related directly with the manufacturer or an authorised service centre.
3. No warranty. The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.
4. Limitation of liability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app, including decisions made about vehicle inspection, accessories, settings, or any dispute with a seller, dealer, or manufacturer.
5. Owner community content. Questions and replies posted in the owner community are user-generated content. We do not verify, endorse, or take responsibility for the accuracy of anything posted by other users. Do not rely on community answers for safety-critical decisions.
6. Pro subscription. GarageDay is free to use. Pro is optional and costs AUD $29 per year. It keeps the photos you take available online for twelve months instead of thirty days; everything else in the app, including your full report and every photo in it, is free and stays free. Your report remains yours to download whether you subscribe or not.
6.1 Renewal. Pro renews automatically each year at the then-current price and is charged to the payment method you provided, until you cancel. We will tell you by email before any renewal at a changed price, and you may cancel before that renewal if you do not accept it.
6.2 Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from the Plans screen in the app, in one step and without contacting us. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. You may resume before that date and nothing changes. When Pro ends, the account returns to the free plan and photo hosting returns to thirty days -- download anything you want to keep before then.
6.3 Refunds. Because the subscription can be cancelled at any time and access continues to the end of the paid period, we do not generally refund part of a year. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or any other consumer protection law that applies to you, which we do not exclude: if the service is faulty or not as described, you may be entitled to a refund or a remedy regardless of anything in these terms. If something has gone wrong, or you were charged in error, contact us and we will put it right.
6.4 Payment processing. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe’s payment form and are never seen, handled, or stored by GarageDay. We keep only a record of which plan you are on and when it renews.
7. Your data. Personal details you provide (name, contact, vehicle details) are used to personalise the app. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics and anything you choose to post in the owner community may be visible to other users of the app. See the app's privacy information for more detail.
8. Images and trademarks. Vehicle images shown in the app (including the personalised car graphic on your dashboard) are original illustrations created for GarageDay — they are not photographs or artwork sourced from Tesla or any other manufacturer, and are not official product imagery. Vehicle model names, and any trademarks referenced in the app, remain the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. If a rights holder believes any content in the app infringes their trademark, copyright, or other rights, we will review the concern promptly and remove or modify the content if warranted.
9. Changes. These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
